History
Silke Buss tells the story of her agency
The managing director of TENGELMANN Southern Europe had other plans. When he called me, I was working as a freelance correspondent for the German media outlets Die Welt and Der Spiegel. He contacted me not only to give me the interview I had requested about the market entry of the Plus Superdesconto supermarket chain in Portugal. He had another main motive: to find the right person for the press office to accompany the chain’s development from the outset. After the call, he travelled to Portugal, we met, negotiated and began our cooperation. That’s how buss comunicação was born.
Of course, at that time, in 2000, the ‘baby’ didn’t have a name yet. It was only a year and a half later, after an intensive and successful work with TENGELMANN, that I decided to found buss comunicação, hire my first employee, build a team of specialists and win new clients. The first were JUNGHEINRICH, SCHENKER and WELLA. Shortly afterwards, we took over media relations for AIRBERLIN, GROHE and ENGEL & VÖLKERS. From the very beginning, we also implemented special projects, mostly for regular clients. Below, we mention the companies that have most marked our history.
