buss comunicação revamps brand identity to mark its 25th anniversary

buss comunicação kicked off 2026 with a new brand identity. The team at the Portuguese-German communication agency spent the last quarter of 2025 developing a new website and updating its logo. The rebranding marks the 25th anniversary of the agency, based in Torres Vedras, Portugal. “Developing a new trilingual website requires a lot of courage, especially because we wanted to integrate the history and only a best of selection of the almost 1,000 news items published on the old website. Then the project gained momentum and, due to our enthusiasm and many ideas, became even more complex than we had imagined,” says Silke Buss, founder and managing partner of the agency, which specialises in media relations, communication training, commemorative books and conflict mediation. “I had this project in mind, and in the end it was our long-standing web designer Susanna de Gioia who convinced me at the beginning of November to take this big step instead of updating the old website again, as we usually do every two years. Luckily! We are very happy with the result. The pages about the historical milestones, the references and the whole dynamic are really great,” adds the communications expert.

With the logo, the agency went one step further. “Here, once again, we showed courage, because we entrusted the project to a designer who had been recommended to us but with whom we had not yet worked”, reveals Silke Buss. Retaining the values and colours was the only requirement given to designer Patrícia Machado. Otherwise, she had complete artistic freedom. “In line with the characteristic features of buss comunicação, I based my concept on the terms topicality, minimalism, strength and self-confidence. In implementing it, I then completely broke away from the previous image: the lettering system was changed and reorganised, giving the brand a clearer and more contemporary aesthetic. The new bold lowercase font expresses charisma and uniqueness”, explains the designer. I thought Patrícia’s radical approach was simply brilliant and was immediately thrilled with the result, as was my team. It was a little difficult for me to say goodbye to our smiling circle with the ‘i’ for information, but of course it had to go”, recalls Silke Buss.

With its new brand identity, the communication agency now considers itself even better positioned to provide excellent services to its corporate clients from various industrial sectors.
